MPNP Draw #197

Navigating the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP): How to Secure Your Invitation to Apply?

Are you considering immigrating to Manitoba, Canada? The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is an excellent pathway for skilled workers and international graduates to make their dream of living and working in Manitoba a reality. The program regularly conducts draws under its Expression of Interest (EOI) system to invite candidates in the EOI pool to submit a full application to the MPNP. In this article, we’ll take you through the recent EOI draw and the key factors that determine your eligibility and ranking.

Expression of Interest Draw #197

Skilled Worker in Manitoba: Occupation-specific selection

In the most recent, Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program draw conducted on 5th October 2023, the MPNP invited candidates based on the demand for specific occupations in Manitoba. Occupations under NOC 2021 major groups 72, 73, and 75 were considered, which include technical trades, general trades, helpers, laborers, and more. A total of 219 Letters of Invitation to Apply were issued to candidates, with a ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate at 610 points.

All Occupations

For candidates not selected in the occupation-specific selection, an additional 222 Letters of Advice to Apply were issued, with a slightly higher ranking score of 629 points.

International Education Stream

The MPNP also considers candidates who meet the International Education Stream eligibility requirements. In this draw, 60 candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply under this stream.

Skilled Worker Overseas

41 candidates who declared being directly invited by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative were issued Letters of Advice to Apply. The lowest-ranked candidate invited in this category had a ranking score of 601 points.

Express Entry Profiles

Of the 542 Letters of Advice to Apply issued in this draw, 140 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

How does the EOI Pool Work?

The EOI system is your gateway to the MPNP. Here’s how it works:

  1. Create an EOI: To begin, you must create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile. There are no limits on the number of candidates who can submit an EOI, and there’s no deadline.
  2. Ranking Process: Your profile will be ranked using several factors, including language proficiency, age, work experience, education, adaptability, and risk. The higher your score, the better your chances of receiving an invitation.
  3. Invitation to Apply: The MPNP will regularly draw the highest-scoring candidates from the EOI pool and invite them to submit a full application. If you’re invited, you can use the same login information you used for your EOI to complete your application.

How Does the EOI Ranking System Work?

The EOI ranking system is crucial for determining your eligibility for the MPNP. Here’s how points are allocated:

Factor 1: Language Proficiency

  • Points are based on your Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) band scores for reading, writing, listening, and speaking. For example: IELTS General
  • You can also earn points for proficiency in Canada’s second official language (English or French).

Factor 2: Age

  • Points are awarded based on your age at the time of EOI submission.

Factor 3: Work Experience

  • Points are allocated based on the number of years of full-time work experience, with additional points for those fully recognized by a provincial licensing body.

Factor 4: Education

  • Points are determined by your highest level of completed education at a recognized institution.

Factor 5: Adaptability

  • Adaptability points are awarded based on your connection to Manitoba, including close relatives, previous work or study experience, and more.

Factor 6: Risk Assessment

  • Points are affected by your connections to other Canadian provinces and previous immigration applications.

In Summary, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program offers a promising opportunity for skilled workers and international graduates to make Manitoba their new home. By understanding the EOI system and the factors that affect your ranking, you can increase your chances of receiving an invitation to apply. Keep in mind that the MPNP may adjust its requirements based on labor market needs, so staying informed and preparing a strong EOI profile is essential for success. Manitoba welcomes you to explore the many opportunities it has to offer, and the MPNP is your first step toward a brighter future in this vibrant Canadian province.
